ASEAN IBYE aims to reach out to young Buddhist youths from ASEAN countries as an exchange of minds and cultures. Grooming Buddhist youths and potential leaders, the programme exposes delegates to various perceptions, understanding, challenges, cultures and new kalyana mitras.

With the first inauguration of the ASEAN IBYE with the theme Joy Fellowship Leadership , the 10-day programme is divided into four parts:

Home Stay
 

International delegates will staying with Buddhist foster families for the first three days of the programme. Co-inciding with the New Year and weekends, they will have the opportunity to start 2010 in Malaysia, and also to feel and experience Malaysian lifestyle of living culture, food, sights and sound.

Workshop Sessions
 

Various workshops are skillfully planned by local Malaysian Buddhist figures and youths for the three days. The sessions cater for the learning, contributing and tackling current situations faced among youths in the Buddhist society, both local and international.

Sessions to include case studies, motivational sessions, inspirational talks and sharing with various Buddhist guests and Dhamma workers, local and from neighbouring countries, who have made a difference in the community and the society.

Delegates will also get to get to know more of the Malaysian Buddhist scene, with local Buddhist hymn singing groups. They will also have the opportunity to share their own hymns with the others
