马佛青最高决策机构为每两年召开的全国代表大会。各会员团体均有权派出代表参与大会并遴选全国理事会以推动会务。执行委员会则执行所有由全国理事会通过的决策与方案。此外，马佛青在各州亦成立州联络委员会，负责协调州内之会员团体，推动州内之活动，为全国理事会与会员团体间沟通之桥梁。
The highest decision-making body of YBAM calls for a National Convention biennially. All MOs have the right to send their representatives to attend the convention and elect National Council members. Executive Committee (Exco) will execute the decisions and action plans approved by the National Council. Besides, YBAM also establishes SLCs that serve as a communication platform between the NC and MOs and to co-ordinate the MOs in the respective states in promoting activities.
弘法 ~ 佛法的实践，是净化社会的动力
马佛青致力为大马佛教社群提供更具素质、创意及系统化的弘法服务，并培育掌握时代趋势的新生代弘法人员及编订弘法人员手册，以期契理并契机地向青年进行布教工作。
如今，马佛青会员团体多已能自力安排弘法活动，为各自区域的佛教徒带来法益。然而，随着我国佛教徒素质的提升，马佛青除了邀请国内外各源流讲师到全国各地弘法，也举办具更高水准的弘法活动，如高级佛学研修班、定期举办专题研讨会及举办各类修持活动。
Dharma Propagation – The Practise of Dharma Leading to Purification of the Society
YBAM strives to provide quality, creative and systematic Dharma propagation services to the Malaysian Buddhist community. It trains a new generation of Dharma speakers who understand the current trend and publishes a handbook for Dharma speakers in order to propagate the Dharma to the youth in the most appropriate manner.
Now, on their own MOs of YBAM are already able to organise Dharma propagation activities to benefit Buddhists in their areas. Following the rising quality of Malaysian Buddhists, besides inviting Dharma speakers from various traditions to give Dharma Talks throughout the country, YBAM also organises Dharma propagation activities of higher standards such as Advanced Dharma Class, regular seminars and other cultivation activities.
教育~佛教青年素质的提升，來自扎实的教育与修持
在积极协助各会员团体成立儿童佛学班或周日学校的同时，马佛青致力提升周日佛学班师资与教材。为了适应各阶层佛教徒的需求，马佛青编订“学前佛学课程”、“小学佛学课程”及“大专初级佛学班课程”。为培训周日佛学班师资，马佛青更于2008年举办了“儿童佛学班教师成长部落”培训课程。
历年来，马佛青与马佛总联办的“全国佛学考试”，皆获得全国各地佛教团体的响应，成为佛学教育评鉴的一环。
Education – Elevate the Quality of Buddhist youths through Profound Education and Cultivation
Besides assisting the MOs in establishing their children Dharma class or Sunday school, YBAM also endeavours to improve the teachers of Sunday Dharma class and teaching materials. To meet the requirement of the different levels of Buddhist, YBAM has edited “Pre-school Dharma Syllabus”, “Primary School Dharma Syllabus” and “Elementary Level of Undergraduate Dharma Syllabus”. To train the Sunday school teachers, YBAM has organised Dharma Class Teacher Training Course in 2008.
Throughout the years, YBAM has co-organised the Malaysia Buddhist Examination with Malaysian Buddhist Association (MBA). This activity is well received by Buddhist organisations and it has become a part of the evaluation of Buddhist education.
文化~实践佛化生活，凝聚佛教社群
文化的传承是一个宗教的延续。佛化家庭乃佛教社群的重要组成部分。因此，马佛青通过推动佛化家庭集体皈依仪式、佛化婚礼、亲子工作坊等，以落实佛化家庭理念。
为了推广佛教文学创作，马佛青致力于1998年及2008年举办“马鸣菩薩佛教文学奖”。在佛教音乐方面，《真善美的旋律》系列佛教创作歌辑亦成功掀起了本地佛曲热潮，并酝酿了“真善美缘创奖”佛曲创作比赛等活动，以佛曲凝聚朝气蓬勃的佛教青年之力量，培育佛曲创作幼苗。
Culture – Leading Buddhist Way of Life Helps to Unite the Buddhist Community
Culture is an extension of a religion. Buddhist families are the foundation of the Buddhist community. YBAM promotes the ideal and concept of Buddhist Family through Group Refuge Taking Ceremonies among Buddhist Family members, Buddhist Wedding Ceremonies and parental workshops, etc.
In order to promote Buddhist literature, in 1998 and 2008 YBAM organised the Venerable Asvaghosa Buddhist Literature Awards. In the area of Buddhist music, the album on “The Melody of True, Kindness and Beauty” has successfully stirred the interest in local Buddhist hymns and resulted in “The Melody of True, Kindness and Beauty Award” and other activities. Buddhist hymns have united the Buddhist youth and the activities have nurtured Buddhist song composers.
福利~推广慈悲济世的事业，体现菩萨利他的精神
早在70年代，马佛青开创国内捐血运动的风气，成功改变了华社对捐血的错误观念；尔后更进一步推展器官捐献运动，成功致使大众对捐血与捐献器官的重视和关注。
佛教注重个人身心的健康，为此马佛青成立及推动的心灯辅导小组，发展及落实以本土佛教为基础模式之辅导工作。
此外，马佛青的积极响应及参与慈善及救济活动，并于2008年推动缅甸风灾及四川地震的赈灾筹款活动，且获得各界热烈反应和支持。
Welfare – To promote charity work, to realize Bodhisattva’s spirit
In the 70s, YBAM started a National Blood Donation campaign which successfully changed the mindset of the Chinese community about blood donation. Later, YBAM promoted Organ Donation and managed to raise the public awareness on these campaigns.
Buddhism focuses on the individuals’ physical and mental health. Hence, YBAM established and promoted the Pelita Counselling unit to further develop Buddhism-based counselling services.
YBAM actively responded and participated in welfare activities. The Myanmar and Sichuan Disaster Relief Funds Raising activity in 2008 received good response and support from the public.
出版 ~ 文字弘法，传播与延续佛法
“以文字弘扬佛法”是马佛青出版工作的崇高理念。马佛青多年来出版的刊物内容涵盖了各个宗派、内容精简、南北兼弘，更影响深远。
马佛青定期出版《佛教文摘》季刊，《Eastern Horizon》英文佛教刊物及《佛教青年》会讯。至今，马佛青已出版及流通一百种以上中、英、巫等三语文之佛书及小册子。这些小册子的流通，使得佛教的基本教义能非常广泛地传播到全国各角落。
Publication – Dharma Propagation through Words and Writings
“Propagate Dharma through Words and Writings” is the mission of YBAM’s publication work. The publications of YBAM cover all the Buddhist traditions and have great impact as their contents are simple and yet informative.
YBAM publishes 3 regular periodicals – Buddhist Digest, Eastern Horizon and Berita YBAM (a newsletter). To date, YBAM has published and circulated more than 100 Dharma booklets and books with different titles in Chinese, English and Malay. The circulation of these booklets has helped to spread the basic teachings of Buddhism to all corners of the country.
领袖及组织培训 ~ 培训佛教青年领袖，推动大马佛教发展
领袖及组织的提升是马佛青向前迈进及继续接受挑战的推动力。马佛青定期举办全国性、州级性、区域性以及不同层次之各类训练课程、理事进修课程、佛教组织管理及行政课程，给予理事及会员自我提升。
此外，马佛青也为中学生及大专生举办训练营、生活营及为相关活动提供谘询意见。马佛青也长期性地进行培育讲师及训练领导人员的计划，以期能够为大马佛教界提供一群有素质的年轻领袖。
Leadership and Organisational Training – The training of Buddhist youth leaders for the development of Malaysian Buddhism
The enhancement of leadership and organisation will lead YBAM to move on and face the future challenges. YBAM organises different training programmes at national, state and regional levels such as enhancement course for committee members, management of Buddhist organisations and administration course for the self improvement of committee members and ordinary members.
Other than that, YBAM organises training camps for secondary school students and undergraduates. It also provides advices to the organisers of such training camps. YBAM has also regularly conducted “Train The Trainers” and leadership training programmes to develop a group of quality young leaders to serve the Malaysian Buddhist community.
对外关系 ~ 扎根本土，面向世界
马佛青乃唯一受政府承认代表马来西亚佛教青年的全国性佛教青年组织，也是马来西亚青年理事会的成员，并通过参与该理事会和青年及体育部之活动，维护佛教青年的权益。马佛青也积极推动国际佛教青年运动，并与世界佛教友谊会和世界佛教青年会保持联系交流，参与世界佛教发展。
External Relation – Rooted in the local, facing the world
YBAM is the only national Buddhist youth organisation recognized by the government to represent Malaysian Buddhist youths. It is also a member of Malaysian Youth Council (MBM). YBAM participates in the activities of MBM and Ministry of Youth and Sports in order to protect the rights of Buddhist youths. YBAM also actively promotes international Buddhist youth activities and maintain good relationship with World Fellowship of Buddhists (WFB) and World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth (WFBY) as a way to participate in the development of Buddhism in the world.
时事课题~表达佛教徒对当代社会之关怀
通过全马各地之会员团体所形成的基础及全国佛教青年所赋予的力量，马佛青时常通过各类媒体针对重要社会课题，发表代表佛教社群的意见，例如否定马来西亚为回教国及呼吁政府废除不符人权的内安法令。马佛青也同时举办各类研讨会、论坛等，以探讨各类时事及佛教课题。
Current Affairs – To express Buddhists’ concern to the society
Based on the foundation of MOs and support given by Buddhist youths in the country, on behalf of the Buddhist community, YBAM always expresses its opinions via the mass media, for example, disagreeing that Malaysia is an Islamic state and urging the government to abolish the ISA. YBAM also organises different seminars and forums to explore current affairs and subject matters related to Buddhism.
大专院校及中学佛学会~培育佛教未来的栋梁
今日的悻悻学子乃是明日推动社会净化之手。马佛青致力于协调各中学、大专、师训学院及其他学院之佛教活动，并提供谘询与训练，以期提升大专佛青、师范学院学员及佛教青少年的素质、思想醒觉及领袖技巧。
马佛青更在中学推动成立佛学会，于各佛教会成立佛青之友，并出版青少年组织活动指南，以接引更多青少年参与佛教活动及学习佛法。同时，马佛青也会继续向政府建议在学校推行佛学及其他非回教课程，并努力确保在学校成立佛学会不受阻扰。
Buddhist Societies in Institutes of Higher Education and Secondary Schools – To nurture the future generation
The students today will be the ones who will purify the society. YBAM passionately co-ordinates Buddhist activities organised by secondary schools, institutes of higher education, teachers colleges and other colleges. YBAM also provides consultation and training to improve the quality, awareness and leadership skills of Buddhist undergraduates and adolescents.
YBAM also assists in establishing Buddhist societies in secondary schools, Young Buddhist Fellowship at the respective Buddhist societies, and publishes manual for adolescent activities in order to attract more youths to participate in Buddhist activities and to learn Dharma. At the same time, YBAM also proposes to the government to promote Buddhism and other non-Islamic courses in schools. YBAM takes great effort to make sure the establishment of Buddhist societies in schools does not encounter any obstacle.
