“Transcending Negative Emotions – To Create Happiness and Well-being in Our Lives”-World Buddhist Conference 2012

Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia, Buddhist Gem Fellowship, and Buddhist Missionary Society Malaysia, supported by many other Buddhist organizations nationwide, had organized the World Buddhist Conference (WBC) from November 3 - 4, 2012 at the Istana Hotel, Jalan Raja Chulan, Kuala Lumpur.

The theme of the Conference is “Transcending Negative Emotions – To Create Happiness and Well-being in Our Lives”. The conference is aimed at anyone who wishes to seek practical advice on how one can maintain a life of inner peace and harmony despite all the troubles and difficulties one encounters in life each day. The conference successfully attracted 500 participants.

The Conference has invited a host of internationally-acclaimed speakers from many different countries. The Keynote Speaker is H.E. Tai Situpa Rinpoche, a renowned Buddhist master, reincarnate lama, and teacher of His Holiness The 17th Karmapa. In his address, His Eminence Tai Situpa Rinpoche spoke about how we can develop positive health in both body and mind. Typical of all Buddhist teachings, Rinpoche’s advice was practical, simple, and easy to understand.

The line-up of speakers at the conference included monastic and lay professional from around the world representing all the three Buddhist traditions of Mahayana, Theravada and Vajrayana.
