Home Info Center Seminar YBAM

The National Day 2015 is celebrated in a rather dignified atmosphere with commencement of Bersih 4.0 Rally held two days ahead of the National Day Celebration. The Rally, with participation estimated more than the Bersih 3.0 Rally, is said to be an event to gauge the people’s support towards the government. It is also worth mentioning that, the supports towards Bersih 4.0 Rally is driven by a value-oriented mindset for a better governance of the nation, and not for the cause of supporting the alternative alliance.

There is a saying that “a life is only completed after 60 years”. This is true to both people and organisations. YBAM is celebrating its 45th birthday this year. Throughout the 45 years and still counting, YBAM is still managing to contribute towards Malaysian Buddhism and training new bloods to continue the Buddhist missions.

There are ups and downs for everything. After going through a transitional period, an organization will face challenges from the government and society, as well as other religions. The conditions may seem to be to our disadvantage but it could also be an opportunity to us. It is still early to evaluate the performance of YBAM at this stage and there is still room for greater improvement. May YBAM continue to develop in the future in order to bring more benefits to the people and to build a harmonious society.

YBAM is the leading Buddhist youth organisation in Malaysia. Through our conviction in the Buddha's mission of compassion, growth and liberation, we continuously promote positive lifestyle in developing a society of wisdom, compassion and gratitude.

This year (2015) marks the 45th anniversary of YBAM. It is also the year that the Puzhao Buddhist Vihara was finally completed after 25 years. Thus, on July 11th, YBAM celebrated its 45th anniversary as well as the inauguration ceremony of the Puzhao Buddhist Vihara. It was a grand gathering of monastics and lay Buddhist leaders from Malaysia and overseas. Our guests included leaders of Buddhist organisations throughout Malaysia, representatives from cultural and educational bodies, and ordinary Buddhists and well-wishers who witnessed the magnificent event. The opening of the main hall of the Puzhao Buddhist Vihara represented a significant milestone in YBAM’s mission to bring the Buddha Dharma continuously to all sentient beings.
