The Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia (YBAM) urges its 263 Member Organisations throughout the country, together with other Buddhist organisations to apply as the religious Tax-Exempt Entities from the Inland Revenue Board as soon as possible.

Since the announcement by PM on ‘Religious donation will be tax-exempted’ news in 2012 Budget session in the month of September 2011, YBAM welcomed the released announcement, and hence encourage the public to donate to the religious bodies, so as to assist in the daily operation expenses and to further benefit the society.

Earlier, Deputy Finance Minister Dato’ Donald Lim Siang Chye mentioned that he did not have the information on the exact figure of religious bodies benefited under this policy. Furthermore, to date, many religious bodies are still unclear on the application procedure to the tax-exempt entities. In view of this, YBAM is releasing this announcement to help these religious bodies to clarify the application process.
